Understanding the Move Out Inspection Process for Residents

After you’ve moved out and returned possession of your rental property, MoveZen completes a move-out inspection. This inspection is an important step in documenting the property’s condition and ensuring everything is recorded accurately.

How the Move-Out Inspection Works:

• The inspection is conducted by our operations team, who are our specialists in the field.

• The purpose is to document the property’s condition as of the time of move-out.

Why Former Residents Typically Do Not Attend:

Our move-out inspections are handled by our field operations team, who visit multiple properties each day. The inspector's role is solely to document the condition of the property - they are not your Account Manager or main point of contact and cannot discuss findings or provide information to outside parties during the inspection. Our inspectors follow a set daily route and visit several properties each day, so we’re not able to coordinate exact times for former residents to attend.

We understand this may feel inconvenient, but this approach helps us stay efficient so we can finalize your deposit as quickly as possible.  If you have specific questions about your move-out, your Account Manager is the best point of contact!

What Happens After the Inspection:

Once the move-out inspection is complete, we compare it with your move-in inspection form and property condition photos. This allows us to carefully review any changes that occurred during your tenancy.

Our goal is for every resident to receive a full security deposit return, provided the property is returned in the same condition it was received.
