Be Prepared for Your Resident Benefits Service Call. Pre-Arrival Tips

We want to ensure a smooth and effective service visit while prioritizing the safety of our staff, your pets, and any visitors. Here’s what you need to know:

Scheduling & Arrival:

  • Advance Notice: We'll schedule your service a day or two in advance by setting an arrival range.

  • Arrival Confirmation: Expect a text about 30 minutes before we arrive to the person who created the request.

  • Exterior Service is Standard: We typically service the exterior of your home. You don't need to be there and we do not go inside unless you've specifically requested an "interior service" option.

  • Want a Knock? You can request that we knock to announce our arrival when submitting your service request.

  • Quick Visits: We aim to complete our service within and won't announce our departure.

Pet Safety is Paramount! 🐾

  • Indoors Please! Ensure all pets are securely inside your home before we arrive and remain inside throughout our visit.

  • Post-Pest Treatment:

  • Drying Time is Key: If we're treating for pests, it's best to keep pets inside for at least 2 hours after we leave to allow the product to dry completely.  In general avoid until dry.

  • Weather Watch: If it's damp or begins to rain, please wait until the treated areas are fully dry before letting pets out.

  • Licking/Eating Precaution: While the standard hardware store sprays we use are considered safe for pets once dried (even if they lick the area, as the product doesn't reactivate when wet - Consumer Services | May 24, 2025), we strongly recommend ensuring your pet does not lick or eat in the sprayed areas for a couple of days as an extra precaution.

Where We Treat: Targeting Problem Areas

To effectively manage pests, we focus on key exterior areas:

  • Primary Targets:

  • Trash Cans: A major focus for pest activity.

  • Door Frames: Including areas around knobs (which may get misted).

  • Window Sills.

  • Foundation: Around the base of your house for certain pest issues.

  • High-Traffic Pest Zones: Pay special attention to keeping pets away from treated door frames and areas where porches, decks, or stoops meet the house.

  • Opt-Out Available: You can opt out of doorframe treatment via the request form, but please note this will reduce the overall effectiveness of the pest control service.

Our Pest Control Strategy: Tailored to the Pest

The type of pests you're experiencing helps us choose the best approach:

  • Roaches (all types) & Ants (not fire ants):

  • Advion is Our Go-To: We use Advion, a highly-rated and one of the most beloved products on Amazon (check it out).

  • Bait Stations: This product is applied using bait stations housed in plastic containers.

  • "No Traditional Spray" Option: If you prefer, for these pests, we can place bait stations around exterior trash cans and provide you with additional stations to place inside.

  • Standard Approach: Normally, we'll spray the exterior and leave a few bait stations for you to place indoors.

  • Other Pests:

  • Traditional Sprays: We use effective hardware store sprays (e.g., Ortho, Bayer).

  • Targeted Application: We focus on trash cans, door frames, window sills, porch lights, and any visible openings or access points.

Before We Arrive: A Little Prep Goes a Long Way!

Help us make your service as effective as possible:

  • Clear the Way: If we are spraying, please put away any exterior toys, pet bowls, or other items likely to be handled.

  • Clean Up Debris: Remove leaves, clutter, and debris, especially around trash cans and the foundation of your home. Pests love cool, inviting environments, and debris can reduce treatment effectiveness.
