As a Resident, Am I Required to Crate My Pet? Why?

Yes — for everyone’s safety, including your pet’s. Dog bites are the leading cause of staff injuries,

and even the friendliest animals can act unpredictably when strangers enter their home. Your lease clearly outlines this requirement, and it applies primarily during maintenance visits or inspections.

We’ve also had cats slip out unnoticed and other pets injured while work was being done. Our staff and vendors move in and out frequently with tools and equipment, and it’s impossible to guarantee a door won’t be left open for a moment.

Crating or safely containing your pet during these times is the best way to protect your animal, avoid accidents, and keep everyone safe during what’s typically just a brief visit — usually only a couple of times a year.
