# How Do I Know if a Home Is Available to View? How about a Self-Showing?
## Not every home is immediately ready to tour, and not every property qualifies for self-showings.

Availability depends on whether the home is occupied, what stage of preparation it’s in, HOA or access rules, and whether a digital lockbox can be installed. Here's how to check viewing availability quickly and accurately.

- **If you see an active scheduling link, the home is available to view**
- **If the calendar shows self-showing times, self-showing is allowed**
- **If the calendar only shows agent-led times, self-showing is not available**
- **Homes marked “Coming Soon” are *not* ready for tours yet**

#### How to check if a home is available for a tour 🗓️
### **1. Look for a scheduling link on the listing**

### **2. Check the scheduling calendar**
- If the calendar has **open time slots**, the home is available for viewing
- If the calendar is **blank or says "no times available"**, it may be:
- In the middle of preparation
- Being inspected
- Occupied with limited access
- Pending a lockbox installation
- About to go live but not fully ready

### **3. Understand “Coming Soon” status**
Some listings say **Coming Soon** on the main ad.
This means:
- The home is **not yet available for tours**
- Preparations, cleaning, or maintenance may still be happening
- The showing system will open scheduling once the home is ready
Coming Soon homes are updated frequently check back within 24–48 hours.

#### How to know if self-showing is available
A home supports **self-showing** when:
- The scheduling calendar shows self-showing time slots
- A **digital lockbox** can safely be installed
- The home is **vacant**
- The HOA allows it
- Access rules are straightforward (no special escorts required)

#### When self-showing is *not* available
Some homes require agent-led showings:
- The home is **occupied**
- HOA or community rules restrict independent access
- The property has areas that require guided explanations
- Lockbox placement is not possible
- Security/safety restrictions apply
- The owner specifically requires supervised tours
In these cases, the scheduling link will only display agent-guided time slots.
