No — you don’t have to be home, though you’re always welcome to be if you prefer. We perform hundreds of inspections and maintenance visits using keys
and it’s a smooth, routine process. If we don’t already have a key on file (a common issue that started during COVID), we’ll even give you a $10 credit when you provide one. You can leave it securely hidden for pickup on arrival.
All MoveZen staff are background-checked and trained from day one to act as if they’re always on camera — and they take that seriously. It’s one of the most effective safeguards we’ve found. Additionally, our inspection process is focused and respectful; we rarely enter bedrooms unless there’s a clear maintenance or safety concern (see Why Might My Inspection Be Expanded?).
There’s no reason for staff to linger in your home unless something urgent — like a water leak — needs immediate attention. If that happens, they’re required to report it through official channels right away.
That said, it’s always smart to lock up or discreetly store valuables and heirlooms before any visit. While our team is highly professional, a little extra caution ensures everyone feels comfortable and secure.
