Our Late Fee Policy Overview

Our late fee policy is designed to be clear and standard, ensuring consistency for both residents and owners.

 

⚖️ The Primary Rule: Always Check Your Lease

 

The most important step is to always consult your lease agreement first. Your lease will clearly outline the exact deadlines and late fee charges. These charges can sometimes vary, particularly if your lease was not created directly by MoveZen.

 

The Standard Policy (99% of MoveZen Leases)

If your lease was created by MoveZen, you can rely on the following standard schedule:

  • Late Date: Rent is officially considered late at midnight on the 6th day of the month.

  • Late Fee Charge: The resulting fee will be 5% of one full month's rent.

Note: The late fee is calculated only on the base monthly rent amount. It does not include other fees such as pet rent, utility charges, or the Resident Benefits Package charge.

 

Payment Application and Enforcement

We operate a standard and easily enforceable payment process:

If other costs (such as pet rent, utility charges, or miscellaneous fees) remain unpaid after several attempts, we are authorized to apply any subsequent payments you make to these costs first. This action may result in a shortfall of the base monthly rent amount, upon which the late fee will then be charged.
